The African Schools Debating Championship is a continental competitions that features national and schools teams from Africa. The original African Schools Debating Championship was hosted the South African Schools Debating Board from 2007 to 2010. The African School Debate Foundation took on the role of bringing the competition back to life. The 2022 edition was the first to be hosted since 2010. South Africa has won four of the five championships and Zimbabwe has won one.

2026 ASDC

The ASDC is a World Schools Debate format competition and is open to all national and school teams. The 2026 edition will take place from October 9th to the 11th online on Zoom feature 4 Rounds of debate (2 prepared motions with 60 minutes of prep time). The out-rounds will feature a quarter finals, semi-finals and grand final. There will be a grand finals for EFL teams. All participants will receive a certificate and the winning team will receive a physical trophy in the mail.
